Why buying and cashing out are different numbers
Robux is a closed currency with two separate prices. Roblox sells it to players at one rate and buys it back from creators at another. Both are real, and they are about three times apart.
On the buying side, 800 Robux costs $9.99 — roughly $0.0125 per Robux. Bigger packages are cheaper per unit, which is why the table above has a per-Robux column and why the converter picks a package split rather than multiplying by a single rate.
On the payout side, DevEx converts earned Robux at $0.0038. That gap is not a fee anyone charges you — it is the spread between what a platform sells its currency for and what it will pay to buy it back. Every platform currency works this way.
One consequence catches people out: Robux you bought can never be cashed out. Only Robux you earned by selling things on the platform qualifies for DevEx, at any rate.
Frequently asked questions
How much is 1,000 Robux in dollars?

How many Robux is $1?
About 80 Robux at the 800 Robux package price. Larger packages give more per dollar. Compare every package →
How much is 100,000 Robux worth?
Buying costs about $899.95 at the best package split. Cashing out 100,000 earned Robux pays $380.00 at the standard DevEx rate. Run the full calculation →
Why is DevEx worth less than the buy price?
Because Roblox sells Robux and buys them back at different prices — standard platform economics. The buy price funds Roblox; the DevEx rate is what it pays creators for value they made. The gap is roughly 3x.
