Every rate change on record
Roblox does not publish a rate archive. Recent changes are confirmed in its own documentation; the two earliest entries are community-documented and marked as such.

How the rate is set, and what to watch
The DevEx rate is not pegged to anything public. Roblox sets it, announces it, and it takes effect on a stated date and time. Comparing it to the retail price of Robux — about $0.0125 per Robux at the 800 package — the payout rate has historically landed somewhere around a quarter to two-fifths of what a player paid.
The more useful pattern is the timing. The rate moved from $0.0025 to $0.0035 in 2017 and then did not move again for eight years. Since September 2025 there have been two changes in ten months.
Why three rates exist at once
Roblox did not migrate old balances when it raised the rate. Robux you already held on September 5, 2025 stayed at $0.0035 and has to be cashed out before you can touch anything earned since. The U.S. 18+ tier layered a third rate on top rather than replacing either.
The result is that two creators with identical balances can receive very different payouts, depending on when they earned and who was doing the spending.
Signals that a change may be coming
- Quarterly earnings language about creator payouts and take rate
- Terms of Use updates — the November 2026 royalty reclassification arrived that way
- New age-verification or regional monetization features, which have preceded new tiers

Frequently asked questions
Did the DevEx rate increase in 2026?
Yes, but not for everyone. On June 8, 2026 Roblox added a $0.0054 rate for spend from age-verified 18+ U.S. players. The standard rate stayed at $0.0038 — this was a new third tier, not a replacement.
What is the US 18+ DevEx rate?
$0.0054 per earned Robux — about +42.1% above the standard rate. It only covers specific purchase types from age-verified 18+ U.S. players, in experiences that meet the R15 character requirements. See the full conditions →
What was the old DevEx rate?
$0.0035, the standard rate from 2017 until September 5, 2025 at 10am PT. If you were earning before that date, part of your balance is still stuck at it — and Roblox makes you cash that portion out first.
Will DevEx rates go up again?
Nobody outside Roblox knows. What the record shows: the rate sat still for eight years, then moved twice within ten months. That suggests it is now an active lever rather than a constant. We email subscribers the day anything changes.
